our mission

We are specialized in basic mathematical computation skills, emphasizing mental calculation ability. Students will comprehend the systematic way of mathematical calculation procedures and improve its accuracy of calculations by use of abacus, or soroban.

Biography

The director and owner of the school, Shinichi R. Yabuki learned Japanese abacus, soroban skills in Japan when he was young. He has always applied his skills in all math classes in Japan and USA after he moved to California 30 some years ago. He opened his abacus school while he was attending college in Ca. Since then, he taught many students who excelled in abacus skills. He also has organized an abacus teachers association in So.Cal. area. and has initiated a few abacus contests.
